Erlang Engineer - Remote Work

About the role

As an Erlang Engineer at BairesDev, you will design and build highly concurrent, fault‑tolerant systems that operate at massive scale. You will work with the BEAM VM and OTP framework to deliver resilient, real‑time infrastructure for mission‑critical messaging or telecom‑heritage applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed, soft real‑time applications using Erlang and OTP.
• Implement highly concurrent systems with lightweight processes and asynchronous message passing.
• Build and maintain supervisor trees for self‑healing and robust fault tolerance.
• Optimize performance and scalability across distributed BEAM nodes and clusters.
• Manage the full development lifecycle of mission‑critical messaging or telecom‑grade infrastructure.
• Apply hot code reloading techniques to update production systems with zero downtime.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on functional programming.
• Proven expertise in building highly concurrent and fault‑tolerant systems using Erlang.
• Deep understanding of the OTP framework and the BEAM virtual machine.
• Strong background in developing messaging or real‑time communication infrastructure.
• Experience with telecom‑grade systems and distributed architectures.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
