Field Engineer – Construction Sector

About the role

Hilti is looking for a Field Engineer to join its Engineering team in Bogotá. The role provides expert technical support and consulting to clients in the Construction, Infrastructure, Energy and Industry sectors, working closely with the sales teams to plan and execute strategies that add value through Hilti's solutions. It suits someone passionate about construction projects from early planning to final execution.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with B2B clients in the construction industry, including large construction firms, engineering consultancies and key decision-makers.
• Plan and execute strategies to position Hilti's solutions in the market, from engineering firms to construction companies.
• Position the value of the products and engineering solutions in engineering professional associations and institutions.
• Identify early-stage projects to collaborate on with the sales team, advising on engineering and during project execution.
• Support ongoing projects with technical consulting to help close deals, and deliver technical advisory services in the early phases of projects.
• Manage customized technical projects by developing solutions, technical specifications and material lists.
• Conduct on-site visits across Bogotá and Medellín.
• Support the sales network in presenting technical and commercial proposals to clients.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering; a specialization or master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Previous experience and knowledge in Structural Engineering.
• 4-5 years of experience in similar roles, including project management, engineering consulting or technical-commercial advisory in the construction industry.
• Conversational English at intermediate level at least (mandatory).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, with an organized, proactive and autonomous approach.

Required skills

• Experience with BIM modeling and Lean Construction is a plus.
