Forward Deployed AI Engineer (GenAI, AWS)

About the role

Provectus is looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work on AI Blueprints for Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, and Life Sciences. You will first sit in the operator’s seat—underwriter, analyst, claims clinician—to understand real‑world constraints before building automated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Embed within client teams and perform the day‑to‑day tasks of operators to capture undocumented requirements.
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Executives to redesign business functions from first principles.
• Develop and ship production‑grade AI solutions using existing industry blueprints.
• Iterate on the solution based on field feedback and ensure measurable business impact.
• Own the end‑to‑end delivery method, operating autonomously without a ticket‑based workflow.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong track record of shipping production code.
• Hands‑on engineer who enjoys staying in the IDE while also taking ownership of outcomes.
• Willingness to spend weeks performing the operator’s job before writing code.
• Proven ability to learn new domains quickly and communicate with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Prior leadership experience (founder, CTO, staff engineer) is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS certifications and hands‑on experience.
• Experience with Generative AI platforms (Anthropic, Claude Code).
