Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

FullStack is looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work remotely in Colombia. This is an inclusive, embedded role where the engineer sits inside the client's problem: you join an enterprise team, find the work that truly warrants AI, architect the system, build it and make it hold up in production. It is a three-way role of consultant, operator and engineer, focused on making agents work inside the client's real systems, workflows and delivery pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Run discovery workshops with business and engineering stakeholders, separate genuine AI problems from workflow problems and come back with a scoped, defensible point of view.
• Map processes being automated and turn them into specifications that people and AI systems can follow reliably.
• Design agentic systems end to end, including orchestration, context and retrieval, tool and MCP integration, guardrails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Build and ship working systems such as agents, multi-step automations, internal tooling and integration layers, with prototypes that prove value quickly.
• Own CI/CD for what you build: build, test, release and environments.
• Present and defend decisions to CTOs, VPs of Engineering and business leadership, quantify impact and support pre-sales scoping and proposals when needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least one mainstream production stack (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, C#/.NET or Go).
• 1-4 years of experience shipping agentic AI solutions, LLM workflows and RAG architectures in production.
• Advanced English and a four-year college degree.
• Experience leading client-facing discovery calls and working on Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ability to take extreme ownership and work in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing) is a strong plus.
• Must be authorized to work in Colombia on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Required skills

• Frontier AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI or OpenAI Codex.
• RESTful APIs, microservices and event-driven systems.
• Agentic orchestration tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, n8n, MCP and LLM APIs.
• CI/CD and end-to-end delivery ownership.
• Strong plus: production AI operations (eval harnesses, observability, drift, regression testing), pre-sales support, process mining or consulting background.
