Freelance Creative Strategist / Copywriter

About the role

Alpha Lion is building a network of freelance Creative Strategists and Copywriters who turn customer insight into performance creative. You will research audiences, find compelling angles, write scroll-stopping concepts and scripts, and use real results to improve each idea. This is a remote freelance opportunity within an ongoing talent pool, with project timing and weekly hours varying; it can grow into a longer-term or full-time role based on performance, business needs and mutual fit.

Key responsibilities

• Turn customer research, market signals, competitor activity and performance data into original creative concepts.
• Develop angles, hooks, scripts, briefs and ad copy for paid-social creative.
• Build concepts around customer awareness, motivations, objections and the language people actually use.
• Partner with editors, designers, creators and media buyers to move ideas from brief to finished assets.
• Review creative performance and explain why an ad won, lost or needs another iteration.
• Turn winning ideas into thoughtful new tests rather than surface-level variations.
• Manage assignments independently, communicate clearly and deliver polished work on schedule.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in DTC/eCommerce creative strategy, direct-response copywriting, or both.
• A portfolio of paid-social concepts, scripts, briefs or copy you personally helped create.
• Strong understanding of customer research, consumer psychology, awareness levels, hooks, angles and creative testing.
• Ability to link creative decisions to performance, not just personal taste.
• Experience collaborating with video editors, designers, creators or media-buying teams.
• Clear written communication, dependable follow-through and comfort working independently remotely.
• Openness to starting as a freelancer and potentially moving to a longer-term or full-time role.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Meta performance creative; experience with TikTok, YouTube, VSLs, UGC, health, wellness, supplements or fitness is a plus.
