Frontend Engineer (Medical Imaging Viewer)

About the role

EPAM is building a web‑based medical imaging viewer that enables researchers and scientists to turn imaging data into actionable insights. As a Mid‑level Frontend Engineer you will work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver high‑performance UI components and integrate complex medical imaging APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core functionality for the medical imaging viewer using TypeScript and ReactJS.
• Maintain and improve existing frontend capabilities, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers to investigate issues, propose solutions and ensure seamless client‑server integration.
• Work with product and design teams to ship intuitive, responsive UI that follows the design system.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, refinements and retrospectives.
• Contribute to an Angular‑based frontend application when required.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and ReactJS.
• Hands‑on experience with DICOM medical viewers (e.g., OHIF) and Solid API integration.
• Good understanding of frontend architecture, state management and component design.
• Upper‑Intermediate English communication skills (B2).
