Full Stack Software Engineer (AWS, Python, TypeScript)

About the role

Modus, a global fully remote digital product engineering partner founded in 2011, is looking for Full-Stack Software Engineers with strong experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications using AWS, Python and TypeScript. The role focuses on backend and AWS serverless application development, with frontend work as part of end-to-end feature delivery. It suits engineers who enjoy owning features across the stack but have strong backend and cloud fundamentals. The opportunity is open to engineers located in the United States or LATAM.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve application functionality, develop APIs and integrations, and work with serverless AWS services
• Contribute to frontend experiences using React or Angular when needed
• Work in an AI-assisted development environment, using modern coding tools to speed up development, navigate codebases, improve testing and deliver higher quality software
• Own features from implementation through deployment, collaborating in a distributed, cross-functional team

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in full-stack engineering, with a heavier emphasis on backend development
• Experience building and maintaining production software with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and source control
• Ability to understand existing codebases, dependencies and business logic independently
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting

Required skills

• Python and TypeScript in production environments
• AWS serverless architectures and services; bonus points for Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, DynamoDB and event-driven architectures
• React and/or Angular
• Bonus: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation), Docker, ECS/EKS, monitoring and observability, and AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor
