Global C&I Curriculum Design Consultant (Remote)
Generation · Bogota
Job description
About the role
Generation, a global nonprofit that trains and places adult learners into accessible careers, is looking for a network of remote contractors to support curriculum development. Contractors are trained first and then assigned to projects on an as-needed basis, with no fixed contract length. Weekly hours vary by project: 15-20 hours per week for 1-2 months, or 30-40 hours per week for 1-2 months.
The consultant works with Global Curriculum Leads, Design Managers, country program teams and technical experts to create content for individual sessions in the bootcamp training, including practice-based sessions such as simulations, role plays, case studies and technical content linked to behavioural skills and mindsets. The role suits an instructional designer who enjoys learning and experimenting, and no relocation is required.
Key responsibilities
- Design active learning experiences and practice-based content for each session (role plays, simulations, field experiences)
- Create supporting materials such as scripted facilitator guides, student handouts and instructor debrief guides so instructors can deliver lessons with little extra support
- Design for both in-person and online contexts across sectors such as tech and healthcare, aligned with the organisation's methodology
- Work with employer and education partners to gather feedback and iterate lessons
- Upload content to the LMS and modify existing content, track progress via project plans
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree, preferably a master's in instructional design or education curriculum design
- At least 2 years of curriculum design experience
- Experience planning and scripting objective-driven lessons and designing active, practice-based learning
- Fluency in English; fluency in Spanish, French, Thai, Portuguese or Italian is highly regarded
- Preferred: experience teaching or designing for at-risk communities, young adults and adults re-entering the workforce, and designing for online or blended programs
Required skills
- Comfort collaborating with technology such as Google Docs and Zoom
- Ability to produce instructor-ready documents and give detailed, professional feedback
- Preferred: experience designing on a Learning Management System (LMS)
