Head of Project Management

About the role

As Head of Project Management within Sanofi’s Medical Operations Team, you will lead a global team of 60‑70 Project Managers across Bogotá, Hyderabad and potentially Budapest, driving a Project Management Center of Excellence that delivers high‑quality Medical Affairs and Market Access initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a Project Management Center of Excellence, standardising methodologies, tools and best practices across the enterprise.
• Implement Agile, Waterfall and hybrid project management approaches for diverse portfolios and regions.
• Ensure consistent delivery quality, including budget management, congresses and events, across therapeutic areas and geographies.
• Drive operational excellence, cost optimisation and continuous improvement through shared‑services models and automation.
• Develop scalable project management frameworks adaptable to varying project sizes and complexities.
• Directly manage Team Leads, providing performance management, coaching and development.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and capability‑building initiatives to grow a high‑performing organisation.
• Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning and workload balance across all locations.
• Partner with Account Managers, Medical Affairs, HEVA and Commercial stakeholders to align project delivery with business objectives.
• Serve as escalation point for project issues, ensuring proactive resolution and transparent communication.
• Implement robust governance, KPIs, reporting, risk management and resource oversight.
• Promote digital enablement and automation to enhance productivity and scalability of project management services.

Required profile

• Minimum 9–10 years of project management experience in a multinational environment, preferably pharmaceutical, medical affairs or medical communications.
• Proven experience managing large, global teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Track record of driving continuous improvement in fast‑paced, global settings.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; advanced degree is a plus.
