IDB Lead and Partnerships Officer

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is hiring an IDB Lead and Partnerships Officer for its Programme and Partnerships Division (PPDI) out-post in Bogota, Colombia. The position supports WFP's strategic engagement with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank and the IMF across the LACRO region, including thematic portfolio issues. It is a 12-month service contract (SC9) with extension subject to funds and performance, under the direct supervision of the PPD Deputy Director, with the Colombia Country Office providing local contract administration.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the PPD Deputy Director on IFI partnerships in LACRO, acting as lead for the IDB and as a matrix contributor for the World Bank, IMF and other relevant IFIs
• Take the lead on assigned geographic or thematic portfolio issues, improving service engagement, quality assurance and cost recovery models
• Analyze trends, opportunities, metrics and partnering modalities with Washington-based IFIs to advise and support LACRO Country Offices
• Support standardizing communication on progress and best practices, and strengthen capacity-building opportunities for country offices

Required profile

• Secondary education completed; a university degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations, Public Health, Social Sciences or a related field is essential
• At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in public sector management, development projects, emergency assistance and/or institutional strengthening; WFP field operations experience is highly preferred
• Preferred: experience partnering with the IDB and other Washington-based IFIs
• Proficiency in English (Level C) and fluency in Spanish
