IT/OT Onsite Support Engineer

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking an IT/OT Engineer to support and maintain both the information technology and operational technology infrastructure at the Buenaventura Terminal in Colombia. The role ensures secure, reliable, and stable technology operations for critical terminal functions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain IT and OT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup solutions, and network devices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support OT technologies such as CCTV, OCR, biometric systems, Vehicle Mounted Terminals, and industrial network devices.
• Provide L2/L3 support, perform root‑cause analysis, and coordinate escalations.
• Execute patch management, vulnerability remediation, backup validation, disaster‑recovery activities, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Maintain technical documentation, asset inventories, diagrams, and operational procedures while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and change‑management standards.

Required profile

• Strong continuous‑improvement mindset with proactive problem‑solving.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualization, storage, and backup environments.
• Working knowledge of OT devices such as CCTV, OCR, biometric systems, and industrial networks.
• Ability to collaborate with regional teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
