Lead Software Engineer (Hybrid) – Bogotá

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer you will shape the technical direction of multiple teams, designing and evolving large‑scale distributed systems that serve millions of customers across Latin America. You will work primarily on backend services while also contributing to mobile and frontend needs as required.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for several teams, aligning with business areas and architecture strategies.
• Design, build, and evolve horizontally scalable microservices using Clojure, Finagle, and hexagonal architecture.
• Mentor engineers across teams, maintain a high technical bar, and participate in code reviews.
• Ensure observability, performance monitoring, and robust error handling for services.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale systems serving thousands or millions of users.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication skills in English, able to explain trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
