Legal Counsel – Colombia & Caribbean

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its operations in Colombia and the Caribbean. Based in Bogotá and working in a hybrid model, you will act as a trusted legal business partner, providing practical, commercially‑focused advice across a wide range of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements such as distribution, supply, service, consulting, logistics, marketing and technology contracts.
• Provide legal guidance to commercial and operational teams, identifying risks and proposing pragmatic solutions.
• Support corporate governance, data‑privacy, employment, dispute resolution and regulatory matters.
• Manage a substantial volume of day‑to‑day legal issues for Colombia and assist with matters across the Caribbean region.
• Collaborate with the Head of Legal LATAM on high‑risk, strategic or precedent‑setting cases.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in Colombian law and familiarity with Caribbean jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders and serve as a reliable advisor.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.

Required skills

• Legal drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, data‑privacy, employment and regulatory frameworks.
• Risk assessment and mitigation.
