Legal Specialist – Bogotá (Hybrid)

About the role

Clara, the leading spend management platform in Latin America, is seeking a Legal Specialist to join its Colombia legal team. This senior individual contributor will navigate complex regulatory environments, support high‑stakes financial transactions, and ensure compliance with local and regional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in global financial transactions, including loan facilities, capital markets deals, and equity/debt financing rounds.
• Own regulatory compliance in Colombia, covering financial sector requirements, AML/CFT obligations, and data protection frameworks.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements such as client contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Finance teams on product‑related legal matters and the legal architecture of new financial products.
• Manage Clara’s regional intellectual property portfolio, including trademark registrations and renewals.
• Maintain legal records across internal systems and implement process improvements using N8N and AI tools.

Required profile

• Law degree and a valid license to practice law in Colombia.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate, commercial, financial, or fintech law.
• Deep knowledge of Colombian financial regulation, AML/CFT, and consumer/data protection laws.
• Proven track record in complex commercial contract negotiation and structuring financial transactions.
• Experience in a high‑growth fintech or technology environment.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with N8N workflow automation.
• Experience using AI tools to automate legal processes.
• Ability to work with spreadsheets, SQL, and Python for analytical tasks.
