Marketing Team Lead

About the role

Canonical is seeking an experienced Marketing Team Lead to own one of its core marketing tracks. This remote position will drive GTM strategy, campaign execution, and product adoption across global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead GTM strategy and integrated campaign execution for your functional area.
• Collaborate with product, sales, content, and partner teams to deliver cohesive plans.
• Shape messaging, positioning, and assets that resonate with customers.
• Design and run experiments, evaluate results, and iterate.
• Drive major launches, marketing initiatives, and growth programs.
• Mentor colleagues, strengthen the function, and set high delivery standards.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Exceptional academic track record.
• Proven B2B marketing experience, ideally in software, SaaS, or open source.
• Track record shaping go‑to‑market strategy, messaging, and pipeline‑moving campaigns.
• Leadership ability to grow and elevate others.
• Data‑driven mindset with ROI focus.

Required skills

• Experience with ABM (Account‑Based Marketing) approaches (nice‑to‑have).
• Background in sales‑led or ecosystem growth (nice‑to‑have).
• Understanding of open source communities and business models (nice‑to‑have).
