Mechanical Project Engineer – Procurement & Material Coordination

About the role

Vital Consulting SAS is looking for a proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to lead procurement and material coordination for mechanical projects in Bogotá. The role focuses on managing purchase orders, supplier communication, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment and materials to support project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and issue purchase orders for mechanical equipment, materials and services.
• Obtain quotations, lead times and technical documentation from suppliers.
• Monitor procurement activities, track order status and provide updates to project management.
• Coordinate delivery schedules, track shipments and verify receiving documentation.
• Support inventory control and material handling processes.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to validate material requirements.
• Assist project managers in planning procurement and delivery timelines.
• Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate performance on quality, delivery and responsiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical projects, procurement, or supply‑chain coordination.
• Experience with purchase order management and material delivery in construction or HVAC environments.
