Medical Science Liaison - Lung Oncology, Bogotá

About the role

AstraZeneca is looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for its Medical Affairs team in Bogotá, Colombia. This field-based role acts as a scientific partner within the lung cancer therapeutic area, supporting Medical Affairs strategies for pre-launch and newly launched products and indications. The MSL builds trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and external experts, translates field insights into action, supports evidence generation and contributes to improving patient access and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the Field Medical Strategic Plan and Medical Affairs strategy within the assigned therapeutic area and territory.
• Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, scientific experts and stakeholders, and conduct balanced, evidence-based peer-to-peer exchanges.
• Engage with payers, decision-makers, government, patient advocacy groups and other partners.
• Organize advisory boards, symposia, scientific exchanges and non-promotional medical events.
• Support evidence generation, including clinical studies, local research, publications and Real-World Evidence (RWE).
• Develop key account plans for prioritized healthcare institutions and identify gaps in patient journeys, pathways, public policy and models of care.
• Support Early Access Programs and Special Importation initiatives, and collaborate with Medical Affairs, Access, Government/Policy, Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Compliance teams.
• Use digital and AI-enabled tools and ensure compliance with AstraZeneca policies, medical governance, pharmacovigilance requirements and local regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biology or related field); advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MSL in oncology, with experience in solid tumors; previous MSL experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
• Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken.
