.NET AWS Migration Engineer

About the role

Softtek, a global process-oriented IT services provider founded in 1982, is hiring a .NET AWS Migration Engineer. The role supports the modernization and migration of .NET applications to AWS, including business-critical on-premises applications, and involves collaboration with architecture, infrastructure and engineering teams. The position is based in Bogotá and surroundings (hybrid) or elsewhere in Colombia remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing applications and migration requirements, and design scalable cloud-based solutions.
• Migrate IIS applications and Windows Services to AWS, and modernize legacy applications and services.
• Develop and maintain applications using C# and .NET, and implement REST APIs and integrations.
• Design and implement cloud-native architecture patterns, configure database connectivity and cloud integrations.
• Create technical designs, migration plans and runbooks, and execute migration, testing and deployment.
• Ensure application performance, scalability and reliability, applying secure coding and software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, operations and cloud teams, and support post-migration stabilization and optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and ownership skills; adaptability in transformation projects.
• Nice to have: experience in capital markets or investment banking.

Required skills

• Over 5 years with C# and .NET, including .NET 6/8+ and ASP.NET Core.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework, dependency injection, asynchronous programming and automated testing.
• REST APIs, SQL Server and Oracle, Entity Framework and EF Core.
• IIS and Windows Services migration to AWS, and strong AWS architecture and migration experience.
• Nice to have: Linux containers, ECS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, AWS DMS, SQL Server/Oracle to RDS/Aurora, JavaScript/TypeScript.
