.NET Modernization Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev, a technology consulting firm with more than 15 years of experience and a remote-first team of 4,000+ engineers, is hiring a .NET Modernization Engineer. The role focuses on transforming legacy monolithic applications into modern microservices architectures, moving from older .NET and Java stacks to contemporary environments while preserving core business logic and improving scalability and maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Decompose monolithic architectures into independent, scalable microservices using proven design patterns.
• Design and implement robust RESTful APIs for communication between modernized components.
• Refactor legacy codebases (C# WebForms, VB, or older Java) to modern clean code standards and frameworks.
• Integrate automated CI/CD pipelines to speed delivery and ensure consistent deployments.
• Work with stakeholders to define modernization roadmaps that minimize production downtime and risk.
• Optimize application performance and security using cloud-native infrastructure and modern design principles.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, specifically with .NET or Java stacks.
• Proven expertise in modernizing legacy monolithic applications into microservices.
• Solid experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and RESTful migrations.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
