NI IP Customer Engineer

About the role

Nokia is looking for an NI IP Customer Engineer who provides professional services for the design, integration, migration, upgrade and optimization of complex IP networks and mission-critical network management solutions. Initial projects will be IP networking related; engineers in the Network Infrastructure Customer Engineering team can also cross-train on Optical Networking and Fixed Networking projects. The role involves continuous upskilling in emerging AI automation tools and AI agents.

Key responsibilities

• Create implementation plans and technical infrastructure documents, and follow the Systems Integration (SI) delivery process
• Create test strategies and test cases, and contribute to customer requirements, analysis, feature specifications and feasibility studies
• Contribute to migration procedures and knowledge documentation in tools such as SharePoint, ShareInside, Yammer and ShareNet
• Work autonomously in a mixed environment, advise and mentor colleagues, and lead small projects with day-to-day staff management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Telecommunications, with at least five years of experience at a telecom equipment vendor or service provider
• Experience designing, integrating, monitoring and troubleshooting optical networks
• Preferred: Nokia NRSII, Nokia SRA, Cisco CCIE and/or Juniper JNCIE certification
• English-speaking, with strong written and verbal communication skills; flexible to customer and project needs

Required skills

• IP routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, Segment Routing, MPLS, LDP, RSVP), L2/L3 VPNs and QoS
• Testing tools such as Spirent, IXIA, Iperf and JDSU; Nokia products (7750SR, 7250 IXR, 7705SAR, 7210 SAS, NSP)
• Network management concepts (NETCONF, YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, REST, XMPP, JMS) and multi-vendor OSS integration
• Scripting (Python, C, Bash, Shell, XML, Perl, JavaScript); Linux/Unix, Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS, KVM, ESXi, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, AWS, GCP
