Performance Designer - Paid Creative

About the role

Manukora, a global wellness brand based in New Zealand, is bringing its paid ad creative in-house. The Performance Designer creates static and light motion ads for Meta, Amazon and landing pages, briefed by US-based creative strategists and held to one visual standard. The role takes over the work currently done by an external agency, with no learning curve on the basics, and reports to the Senior Design Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Design static ad concepts for Meta feed, TikTok, YouTube and other placements, plus Amazon A+ content and landing page heroes
• Add subtle, looping animation to statics (short, ~5-second assets)
• Produce fast variant sets of winning creatives, iterating on hooks, headlines and visuals
• Build and maintain a documented static template system with formats, sizes and brand-safe layouts
• Apply claims, compliance rules and brand guidelines to every asset
• Review ad performance in Meta and work with strategists on the next round
• Work through the production queue with the creative strategists, Creative Producer and Ops, and support the wider design team when there is capacity

Required profile

• 5+ years designing paid social creative for US, UK or Australian DTC or CPG brands, in-house or at an agency, at high volume
• A portfolio of ads that actually ran; applications showing only brand, packaging or organic work will not be reviewed
• Strong understanding of paid ads: hooks, formats, placements and creative testing
• Ability to overlap 4 hours a day with 9am to 5pm Pacific time, Monday to Friday
• Not a long-form video editor, packaging designer, brand campaign concepter, junior or entry-level role

Required skills

• Figma
• After Effects or similar motion tool
• AI tools such as Higgsfield and CapCut, used with judgement
