Project Assistant - Minerals Trade (RBS)

About the role

SGS, a global inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is hiring a Project Assistant for its Minerals Trade business in Bogotá. The role covers issuing and reviewing certificates and documentation, handling invoicing, coordinating with SGS affiliates worldwide, and providing technical assistance and quotations to clients. It is a full-time, on-site position with a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities

• Issue and review certificates, documentation and invoices, and coordinate with SGS affiliates globally.
• Provide technical assistance and quotations to clients and affiliates, in consultation with the supervisor or manager.
• Answer calls and emails from customers, affiliates and subcontractors, and keep them informed through regular updates.
• Create internal files and upload documents to internal and customer servers.
• Check affiliate invoices for accuracy before approval and submission to the client.
• Assist the manager in customer meetings and conference calls, and liaise with Global Customer Care.
• Process Accounts Payable for the Minerals Trade departments as required, and assist with special projects in the laboratory department.
• Keep client data accurate and secure, and follow SGS health, safety, integrity, QHSE and HR policies.
• Keep the workspace tidy and remain familiar with SGS quality assurance procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business or an administrative background.
• 1+ year of experience in operations.
• Understanding of the Marine Shipping trade is a strong asset.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (B2 or above).
• Ability to manage priorities, meet tight deadlines and travel occasionally to other SGS sites.
