Quality Assurance Specialist (QA Tester)

About the role

Medallo.dev provides near-shore software engineers from the Medellín Metropolitan Area to international clients, embedding them in client teams. It is hiring a QA tester in Medellín to ensure the B2B applications built for its clients work for every user, role and dataset. The role is full-time and hybrid: one day a week in person at a coworking space in Medellín, the rest remote.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain test plans covering each feature, user role and permission level.
• Build and manage test suites and test cases, keeping them up to date as the product changes.
• Test data-intensive workflows such as imports, exports, reports and filters, including large or messy datasets.
• Verify role-based access so each role sees and does only what it should.
• Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results and evidence.
• Work with engineers to verify fixes and run regression testing before each release.
• Communicate test status, risks and release readiness to English-speaking clients.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in quality assurance and quality control, with experience designing and executing test strategies.
• Experience testing B2B / enterprise applications.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly and document findings in a structured way.
• Professional English (CEFR B2 or C1); Spanish is highly beneficial.

Required skills

• Familiarity with software testing tools (manual and automated).
• Test case management and defect tracking systems such as Jira.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

What we offer

• Compensation of up to COP 8,000,000 per month depending on experience.
• 15 days of paid vacation per year.
