Senior Data Engineer (AI/ML & Azure) - Remote Latin America

Kake is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a strong AI/ML focus to join a team supporting modern data and AI initiatives for an innovative client. The role is client-facing and calls for strong communication skills and the ability to turn technical concepts into practical solutions. It suits someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data engineering and emerging AI technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data engineering solutions.
• Develop and manage data workflows using Python and Azure Data Factory.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric to build and support modern data solutions.
• Leverage Azure Machine Learning and related technologies to support AI/ML initiatives.
• Prepare, transform, integrate and optimize data for analytics, machine learning and AI use cases.
• Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts, architecture decisions and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work with data scientists, engineers and other stakeholders to deliver data and AI solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data pipelines, processes and AI/ML workflows.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in data engineering.
• Experience working directly with clients or other external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Nice to have: experience producing machine learning models or AI solutions, consulting or other client-facing technical environments.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning or similar Azure AI/ML services.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Solid understanding of data pipelines, data transformation and modern data architectures.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and workflows.
