Senior Accountant – Colombia

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to lead the initial accounting operations of our Colombian subsidiary. You will ensure flawless local accounting in line with IFRS and DIAN requirements while building the day‑to‑day financial processes that support our growth.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the full accounting cycle in Colombia, preparing accurate financial statements under IFRS.
• Structure and execute weekly payments to suppliers, payroll, and contractors, managing operating cash flow.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions under the mark‑up model, ensuring compliance with transfer‑pricing policies.
• Prepare and file local tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, ICA, electronic filings) and liaise with external advisors or auditors.
• Support management reporting, variance analysis against budget, and cost/expense control.
• Monitor accounting policies and implement digital tools or processes to automate financial operations.

Required profile

• Certified Public Accountant with a valid Colombian license.
• Intermediate English (B2) and 4‑5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in audit firms or early‑stage companies.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian tax regulations (DIAN) and IFRS.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with cloud‑based ERP systems such as Siigo, Alegra, NetSuite or SAP Business One.
• Proven ability to lead process‑improvement initiatives and adapt to fast‑changing startup priorities.
