Senior Accountant – Corporate Controllership

About the role

The Senior Accountant joins Mastercard's Corporate Controllership team in Purchase, NY, reporting to the Director of Accounting. The role supports the Directors across multiple verticals, including Rebates & Incentives, Treasury, and Financial Reporting, ensuring the integrity of financial statements and compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc management reports, including variance analysis and executive presentations.
• Assist in accounting research, technical memorandums and provide recommendations for proper accounting treatment.
• Support a strong control environment by establishing, monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with Business Unit and Regional Controllers as well as Global Business Shared Services.

Required profile

• Fluent English with a degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven analytical abilities and experience reviewing complex accounting issues.
• Ability to build proactive relationships with business partners.
