Senior Backend Software Engineer - Spring Boot

About the role

Softtek is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer in Bogotá, Colombia, focused on Java and Spring Boot. The role centres on designing, developing and maintaining backend features for payment-processing applications, with a strong emphasis on cloud-native solutions on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend application features and functionality
• Develop high-quality, scalable and secure code following best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services
• Build and support distributed and cluster-based application architectures
• Develop and integrate authentication and authorization solutions using Amazon Cognito
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements
• Participate in technical discussions, estimation sessions and solution design activities
• Ensure application reliability, scalability and performance within payment-processing environments
• Support production deployments and continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development
• Experience implementing and managing Amazon Cognito
• Experience with payments or financial services solutions; fintech or financial industry background
• Knowledge of application security and performance optimization
