Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions that enable business decision‑making. The role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models while ensuring data quality, availability and performance within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise complex SQL queries for data transformation and analysis.
• Design and maintain data‑warehouse models.
• Develop Python scripts to ingest data from APIs.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation and validation processes.
• Manage and optimise large datasets using Google BigQuery.
• Integrate multiple data sources using tools such as Fivetran, Supermetrics or similar.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability across pipelines.
• Collaborate with Analytics, BI and Engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data architecture, performance and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Google BigQuery.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations and query optimisation.
• Experience developing Python scripts for API integrations and data ingestion.
• Solid experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with data‑integration tools such as Fivetran, Supermetrics or similar.
• General knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of data‑warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
