Senior Email Security Engineer

About the role

Auxis is looking for a senior engineer to own and evolve its mail protection stack. In this hands‑on role you will design, configure and manage detection and filtering policies that safeguard the organization’s messaging environment from advanced threats such as phishing, BEC and malware.

Key responsibilities

• Own the secure email gateway and cloud protection platforms, tuning filtering policies, sandboxing and impersonation defenses.
• Drive domain authentication across all sending domains, enforcing SPF, DKIM and DMARC without disrupting legitimate mail flow.
• Optimize user phishing reporting mechanisms and automate post‑delivery remediation workflows.
• Analyze email‑borne threat vectors, investigate evasion techniques and continuously adapt defensive controls.
• Monitor catch rates, false‑positive rates and overall mail flow health, supporting audit, privacy and client assurance requests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in messaging infrastructure or security engineering with a focus on enterprise email security.
• Proven hands‑on delivery and management of SPF, DKIM and DMARC programs across complex organizational domains.
• Strong understanding of phishing, malware distribution and Business Email Compromise tradecraft.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GCIA) are a plus.

Required skills

• Enterprise email security platforms such as Proofpoint, Mimecast or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Deep familiarity with Exchange Online mail flow and email routing.
• Implementation and management of SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication standards.
