Senior QA Engineer

About the role

As a senior member of the Quality Assurance team at Monks, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our software products. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans that enable development teams to ship high‑quality code quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust test strategies and test cases for new and existing features.
• Design, write, and maintain automated UI and API test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand‑ups, Retrospectives) to provide a QA perspective from the start of the development cycle.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira or similar bug‑tracking tools.
• Communicate effectively with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and report on software health.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
• Perform regression testing and root‑cause analysis for production bugs.
• Proactively suggest process improvements to prevent defects before they occur.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both manual and automated software quality assurance.
• Strong proficiency in English.
• Ability to write clear, concise test plans and bug reports.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript.
• Test automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium.
• API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured.
• Load testing tools (preferred): JMeter, Locust.
• Security testing knowledge (preferred).
• Cloud platforms (preferred): AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• SQL for data validation.
• Version control: Git, BitBucket.
