Senior Security Software Engineer (AI‑First)

About the role

Caseware is seeking a Senior Software Developer III to lead security‑focused, AI‑first development on its cloud platform. The role is fully remote from Colombia and combines modern cloud engineering with occasional legacy Windows code refactoring.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prototype cloud‑native services that deliver business value while aligning with long‑term product vision.
• Drive architecture reviews, RFCs, and hands‑on delivery across the SDLC, balancing speed, quality and maintainability.
• Automate builds, testing, deployment and operational workflows, and champion best‑in‑class automation practices.
• Own security posture and CVE remediation across the cloud dependency graph and legacy Windows components.
• Mentor developers in AI‑assisted development, design reviews and secure coding practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of impact beyond a single team.
• Strong background in distributed, cloud‑native SaaS platforms, preferably on AWS.
• Experience with agentic‑AI development tools and a commitment to verify AI‑generated code.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams.

• Java (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway)
• AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, EKS, DocumentDB, Secrets Manager)
• Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio)
• Testing & observability (JUnit, New Relic)
• Legacy Windows development (C++.NET Framework, MSBuild) – optional but beneficial
• AI‑assisted development tools (Claude, other agentic‑AI assistants)
