Senior Structural Engineer - Data Centers

About the role

AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is looking for a Structural Engineer with proven expertise in the structural design of buildings, with a strong emphasis on data center facilities, to join its Bogota, Colombia office. The role covers structural design, calculations, reporting and multidisciplinary collaboration on infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the structural design of buildings in infrastructure projects, including data centers, through mathematical models, calculations and technical reports.
• Design concrete and steel systems for data centers, accounting for high loads, vibration criteria, redundancy and constructability.
• Ensure projects follow the company's quality management system and promote an integrated, multidisciplinary approach.
• Address client requirements and stay up to date with industry standards, guidelines and new technologies.
• Collaborate with architects, geotechnical, piping, mechanical and electrical engineers and clients, and prepare technical reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of proven technical experience in structural engineering, focused on concrete and steel structures under international standards.
• Solid knowledge of structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel, and familiarity with ASCE, AISC and ACI codes.
• Advanced technical English (B2 level).
• Preferred: experience with data center structures and foundation systems (shallow/deep foundations, piles, mat foundations); ability to work independently with limited supervision; excellent communication and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Ram Connection, IdeaStatica or similar, and AutoCAD.
• BIM experience is a plus.
