Senior Tax Analyst LATAM

About the role

NielsenIQ is hiring a Senior Analyst for LATAM Tax, an individual-contributor role within a multinational corporation operating in over 100 countries. You will prepare and support timely, accurate compliance with direct and indirect tax requirements across several LATAM jurisdictions, including income tax filings, VAT filings and tax provisioning workpapers, while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors. The role offers growth potential into more senior tax positions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare corporate income tax (CIT) returns, withholding tax compliance filings, VAT compliance filings and advance tax calculations and payments across assigned LATAM jurisdictions
• Prepare tax provision workpapers for statutory and group reporting (ASC 740), including current and deferred tax calculations
• Maintain and reconcile tax accounts monthly or quarterly, with complete supporting documentation
• Prepare return-to-provision reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Liaise with R2R, FP&A, Treasury, statutory audit and external consultants on tax reporting
• Assist with responses to tax audits, assessments and inquiries from tax authorities, under the guidance of senior team members
• Support tax process improvement and automation initiatives, and provide ad hoc analysis and data requests to the wider tax team

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience in direct and/or indirect tax, ideally in a global or multinational environment (industry, Big 4 or professional services)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related field
• Knowledge of direct and indirect tax laws and accounting standards in one or more LATAM jurisdictions
• Familiarity with ASC 740 tax provisioning and general ledger reconciliations
• Strong written and verbal English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
