Service Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) joins a 24x7 frontline batch team responsible for safeguarding critical data pipelines and scheduled workloads. Operating around the clock, the SRE monitors high‑volume processing jobs, quickly triages alerts, and executes tactical interventions to meet strict business deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Run and monitor scheduled batch jobs, ensuring timely completion.
• Troubleshoot system errors, performance issues, and job failures.
• Perform incident management, collaborate with application owners, and drive problem‑management activities.
• Maintain and improve documentation, runbooks, and audit trails.
• Track metrics and KPIs related to batch support activities.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet job dependencies.
• Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting and configuration‑management tools.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in production support or operations, preferably on a 24x7 rotation.
• Familiarity with batch processing tools such as Control‑M and SFTP.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident‑response skills in cloud environments (Azure).
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly during incidents.
• Commitment to reducing manual toil through automation.
