Software Developer in Test II (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

Caseware, a Canadian fintech company behind audit and accounting software used by hundreds of thousands of professionals, is hiring a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for its Central Quality Engineering function within the SE Platform team. The role drives scalable, modern approaches to testing, automation and developer enablement, and reports to the Central Quality function. It is a fully remote position based in Colombia.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the team of SDETs that partners with product teams to embed quality through tooling, automation, infrastructure, reporting and best practices.
• Contribute to a modern quality strategy, improving the test pyramid by moving beyond UI-only validation to lower-level testing.
• Improve CI/CD and developer workflows: make E2E tests faster and more reliable, reduce flaky tests and shorten feedback loops.
• Support functional testing and enhancements along the roadmap, using agentic testing and AI test harnesses.
• Help track quality KPIs such as test coverage, defect trends, test effectiveness, flakiness and regression rates, and use them to guide automation and infrastructure investments.
• Share testing methodologies with developers and other SDETs and promote a quality-first mindset.

Required profile

• 2+ years in Quality Engineering teams in modern SaaS or platform organisations in cloud-native environments (AWS).
• Experience leading testing initiatives for distributed teams across multiple regions.
• Experience integrating QA tools such as Zephyr Scale and on-premise CI/CD systems (GitHub).
• Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence engineering and product stakeholders.
• A growth mindset, willingness to mentor others and interest in AI-powered testing tools (a bonus).

Required skills

• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Workflows) and automated testing infrastructure.
• Testing across the pyramid, including API contract and integration testing (Cypress, Pact, K6).
• Solid front-end knowledge and testing fluency in HTML/CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with observability tools and best practices for test signals.
