Software Development Engineer – Reservation Team

About the role

As a Software Development Engineer in Amadeus' Reservation team, you will design, develop, and maintain critical reservation platform components used by airlines and travel agents worldwide. You will work in a Scrum environment, collaborating with product analysts, QA, and DevOps across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze specifications, define user requirements, and communicate with stakeholders to shape new or upgraded software solutions.
• Design technical solutions, perform feasibility studies, and ensure sustainable evolution of the software architecture.
• Develop high‑quality code in C++ (with optional training), model databases, and conduct unit, package, and performance testing.
• Debug and support existing solutions in production, providing timely issue resolution for customers.
• Document software designs, create deployment packages, and perform standard SRE activities such as platform reboots and role switches.

Required profile

• Solid experience in software engineering and object‑oriented design.
• Proficiency with C++, C#, Java, Python and strong understanding of algorithms and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with RDBMS/SQL (Oracle preferred) and exposure to NoSQL technologies like Couchbase.
• Familiarity with Protobuf, XML/JSON, REST APIs, and SOA/event‑driven architectures.
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting, and basic sysadmin tasks.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
