Strategic Partnership Advisor (Volunteer Placement)

About the role

Cuso International is offering a 5-month volunteer placement in Medellín, Colombia, starting December 2026, under its SHARE project on inclusive development and gender equality. The role supports the identification of skills needs among Canadian private companies so that technical and vocational training can be aligned with them, and helps partners adapt to new market realities and become economic facilitation agents. Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada are eligible.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out surveys among local businesses to identify skill shortages and compare them with current training programs, then modify vocational and technical curricula accordingly.
• Deliver capacity-building workshops on financial facilitation and help partners redefine their value propositions and measure economic outcomes such as employment and supplier readiness.
• Host networking events to explore collaboration opportunities and assist supplier development initiatives for disadvantaged groups, fostering employment for women and youth.
• Create indicators to track job creation and resilience, and train partners in collecting and analysing data on youth and women's access to decent employment.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a focus on strategic planning, business strategy and institutional partnerships.
• Expertise in strategic planning and business strategy, and familiarity with marketing.
• Proven ability to build relationships within the private sector and experience working with multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
• Spanish at advanced level (Level 4); a Spanish resume and statement of interest are required.
