System Reliability Engineer

About the role

ScotiaTech, the technology hub of Scotiabank in Bogota, is looking for a System Reliability Engineer to strengthen the reliability, scalability and performance of its critical applications. You will work in a fast‑paced, inclusive environment, collaborating with cross‑functional and multi‑country teams to deliver robust monitoring and automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage PCM Tools to proactively detect anomalies, optimise performance and support root‑cause analysis.
• Develop Python and Salt scripts to automate monitoring tasks, data extraction and alerting workflows.
• Integrate monitoring tools with CI/CD pipelines and ITSM platforms for streamlined operations.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, product owners, scrum masters and developers to perform gap analysis, observability assessments and validate monitoring requirements.
• Ensure deliverables meet standards for reliability, scalability, performance and availability, aligning with the bank’s technology roadmap.
• Create and maintain process lifecycle documentation, including guides, knowledge‑base articles and incident playbooks.
• Investigate ad‑hoc issues, propose solutions and drive resolution while communicating release status and escalating risks.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned production implementations and support production releases.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical and business teams across locations.
• Strong communication skills for status reporting, risk escalation and documentation.
• Experience managing day‑to‑day project tasks, meeting milestones and delivering within defined time, cost and scope.
• Ability to identify dependencies, track impediments and facilitate their removal.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within a high‑performing team.
