About the role
Newfire Global Partners is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to architect and deliver a greenfield data warehouse on Azure. You will work directly with the CEO and product owners to translate business needs into a modern analytics stack.
Key responsibilities
- Define target architecture and data models for a Snowflake‑based warehouse using Medallion Architecture principles.
- Lead evaluation and implementation of the semantic layer (e.g., Cube) and BI tools such as Hex, Lightdash, or Metabase.
- Establish a Definition of Done that includes documentation, testing, and peer review.
- Design a data quality framework with dbt tests and observability patterns.
- Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and quarterly roadmap for the data team.
Required profile
- Proven experience building data platforms within the Azure ecosystem.
- Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Data Architect, or Analytics Engineering Lead.
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical executives.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery cadence.
