Systems Engineer

About the role

Plan A Technologies is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to maintain, secure, and optimize both physical and virtual infrastructure supporting our gaming environments. You will work across Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms, applying independent judgment to ensure scalability and alignment with new product initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and secure physical and virtual systems, ensuring availability for gaming workloads.
• Perform systems modeling, analysis, and testing on Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), and virtualization platforms.
• Develop test plans, implementation timelines, runbooks, and rollback procedures for infrastructure projects.
• Write functional specifications and keep system, automation, and operational documentation up to date.
• Troubleshoot server, OS, virtualization, storage, application platform, and connectivity issues.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Upgrade hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, firmware, and automation tooling as needed.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for infrastructure problem resolution and solution design.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of experience in systems engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical role.
• Technical certifications in systems administration, virtualization, automation, or security are a plus.
• Experience in the gaming industry is preferred.

Required skills

• Administration of Windows Server 2016+ environments.
• Administration of Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, or StorMagic.
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Ansible.
