Technical Specialist

About the role

ScotiaTech, the technology hub of Scotiabank in Bogota, is looking for a Technical Specialist to support its Global Technology & Engineering Platform Services. The role focuses on server hardening, vulnerability remediation and reporting to ensure compliance with security policies and to improve the bank’s risk index.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee server hardening cadences for infrastructure and application servers.
• Collect, analyse and report on critical application asset remediation efforts.
• Produce dashboards and detailed tracking reports on server audit data and policy thresholds.
• Identify IT and business owner mappings for server assets and collaborate with multi‑functional teams to drive remediation.
• Support weekly and monthly performance reporting and develop professional spreadsheets from multiple data sources.
• Investigate vulnerabilities, recommend remediation solutions and ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in Linux administration or a similar role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
