Electrical Designer – Remote (Commercial Solar)

About the role

The Electrical Designer will join Exactus’s Commercial Electrical Engineering Team to create and review electrical permit and construction packages for commercial solar projects across the United States. This fully remote, full‑time position works on EST business hours and requires a high‑level of English communication.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical designs for commercial‑scale PV projects, including interconnection, permit, construction and as‑built packages.
• Produce line diagrams, site plans, elevations, DC stringing layouts and perform electrical calculations.
• Collaborate with clients to revise designs and ensure project requirements are met.
• Maintain and update protocol documentation and perform daily commercial electrical checks.
• Provide feedback to reviewers and team lead to improve design efficiency.
• Assist the team lead with administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (electrical or related).
• Strong problem‑solving ability and independent work style with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent time‑management and professional written and verbal English proficiency.
• Experience with commercial solar PV design; experience with energy‑storage systems is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as applied to PV systems.

Required skills

• AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Electrical design for photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• NEC compliance for PV installations.
• Energy‑storage system design (preferred).
