Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

STgenetics is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to protect its innovative agriculture and animal genetics platforms. The position is fully remote, based in Colombia, and involves hands‑on work across penetration testing, incident response, malware analysis, and log analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead response to security incidents such as malware infections, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
• Analyze logs from SIEM, endpoint, network, and cloud sources to support threat hunting.
• Plan and execute internal and external penetration tests, documenting findings and remediation steps.
• Perform static and dynamic malware analysis and map attacker TTPs.
• Maintain and improve incident response playbooks and post‑incident reports.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and compliance teams to remediate findings.
• Mentor junior security analysts and engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in penetration testing, incident response, malware analysis, and log analysis.
• Proven experience with complex enterprise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Intermediate English (B2+) for work‑related conversations.
