AI Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions inside enterprise customer environments. You will work closely with a Deployment Strategist to co‑create production‑ready AI agents that deliver measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for large enterprises, including prompt design, reasoning, tool calls, and system integration.
• Own end‑to‑end technical components: architecture, deployment, validation, and observability in production.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and other customer data platforms.
• Maintain agent performance dashboards and KPI reporting to track health and outcomes.
• Collaborate with customers and partners, providing best‑practice enablement and feedback to product teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience with at least one production system you can demonstrate.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Customer‑facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering).
• Fluent in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex and willing to learn additional languages as needed.
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
