Application Support Engineer

About the role

TMF Group, a global provider of administrative services, is hiring an Application Support Engineer. The role provides L2/L3 support for business-critical applications hosted on AWS, works closely with development and support teams, and takes part in on-call rotations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for AWS-hosted applications, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and implement fixes
• Conduct root cause analysis, maintain incident documentation and manage incidents, changes and problems in line with ITIL practices
• Take part in on-call rotations for after-hours support
• Support applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, EBS, CloudWatch), write and optimise SQL queries, monitor logs, debug and tune performance
• Assist with deployments, releases and hotfixes, and work with Linux and container technologies such as Kubernetes
• Work with development (L3) and support (L1) teams, and with IT and business stakeholders to prioritise and resolve tickets
• Track and report on SLAs and service performance, identify improvements and optimise KPIs
• Maintain documentation of systems and processes, contribute to change management and digital transformation, and mentor junior team members

Required profile

• 4-6 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support or similar roles
• Intermediate to advanced English and Portuguese

Required skills

• Strong AWS experience (EC2, RDS, EBS, CloudWatch)
• Advanced SQL scripting and data analysis
• ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
• Linux and container technologies; Kubernetes is a plus
• Monitoring tools such as Splunk or CloudWatch
• REST APIs and web services
• Azure knowledge is a nice-to-have
