Asset Recovery Case Manager (ARC Manager)

About the role

World Business Lenders (WBL) is a privately held portfolio lender of real estate-secured business loans for underserved businesses, with a fully remote, multinational workforce. The ARC Manager leads and supervises a team of legal professionals handling litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy and other legal recovery matters on non-performing commercial business loans. The role coordinates daily legal operations, guides litigation and recovery strategies, monitors case progress and deadlines, and works with internal stakeholders and external counsel. The schedule is typically 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the legal team, allocating workloads, setting priorities and monitoring deadlines.
• Provide guidance on foreclosure, breach of note and guaranty claims, bankruptcy, title disputes, receiverships, judgment enforcement and deficiency claims.
• Monitor case progress, flag risks and delays, and escalate complex matters to senior management.
• Review litigation strategies, settlement proposals and recovery alternatives.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on strategy, documentation, performance and legal costs.
• Work with Asset Management, Credit, Servicing, Finance, Compliance and Operations to prioritize cases and maximise recovery.
• Support settlement negotiations, loan modifications, discounted payoffs, restructurings and foreclosure sale recommendations.
• Maintain case records and reporting on portfolio activity, case aging, recoveries, legal expenses and outcomes.
• Improve workflows, standardise procedures and enhance reporting; ensure compliance with legal requirements and confidentiality standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop team members, communicate performance and risks to the SVP and Asset Management, and coordinate across time zones.

Required profile

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised institution.
• 10+ years of experience in litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, debt recovery or creditor rights, including leading a team and managing a large case portfolio.
• Preferred: U.S. foreclosure, default litigation, bankruptcy or commercial creditor recovery experience; commercial real estate lending or banking background; multi-jurisdictional litigation experience.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
• Availability Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, with a stable internet connection and remote working setup.
