Associate, Data Analytics & Risk Management

About the role

The Associate, Data Analytics & Risk Management will own credit analytics and portfolio risk work for Accion Advisory's partner financial service providers. You will turn partner data into actionable decisions by building, validating, and monitoring statistical and machine‑learning credit models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate statistical and machine‑learning credit models from data collection to deployment.
• Coordinate data requirements with database analysts and partner IT teams, ensuring data integrity.
• Continuously monitor model performance, recalibrating as portfolio behavior shifts.
• Conduct portfolio quality assessments (vintage, net flow, trend, early‑payment default, WAS/IS) and translate insights into corrective actions.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance indicators and loan officer productivity, reporting trends in growth, product acceptance, and risk levels.
• Evaluate credit process flows and recommend policy, process, and tool changes for new products.
• Build partner capacity by delivering training and developing monitoring tools for risk‑based segmentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business.
• 5+ years of experience in credit risk, portfolio analytics, or retail lending within a regulated financial institution.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Legal authorization to work in Colombia.

Required skills

• Credit risk modeling, statistical analysis, and data mining.
• Programming in Python, R, or SQL for modeling and data extraction.
• Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
