Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant (Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & PT) - Remote

About the role

BizForce Healthcare is hiring a Health Guide (Medical Assistant) for a U.S.-based virtual healthcare practice focused on orthopedics, sports medicine and physical therapy. The role is fully remote and non-clinical, serving as the first point of contact for patients by phone, video and electronic messaging. The employer offers a one-time payment of 500,000 Colombian Pesos upon hiring.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient calls on RingCentral and handle outbound calls, emails and texts to follow up on needs and appointments
• Run virtual patient intakes, gather medical history, symptoms, insurance and demographic data, and enter them into the EHR while keeping records confidential per HIPAA
• Schedule, confirm and reschedule virtual consultations with orthopedic physicians and physical therapists, and help patients book imaging and follow-up care
• Monitor virtual waiting rooms, troubleshoot basic audio/video/connectivity issues and notify providers when patients are ready
• Track patient interactions and pending tasks, prepare end-of-day reports and collaborate with providers on workflow
• Interpret in real time between Spanish and English during virtual consultations and guide Spanish-speaking patients through scheduling and intake

Required profile

• At least 3 years in a patient-facing healthcare role such as Medical Assistant, Patient Coordinator, Medical Receptionist, Medical Scheduler or Healthcare Customer Service Representative
• Excellent spoken and written English and Spanish, and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with high-volume inbound and outbound patient calls and with appointment scheduling and intake
• Comfortable working video conferencing platforms and a fixed U.S. business-hours schedule, including weekends if required
• Background screening must be passed
