About the role
We are seeking a Business Affairs Specialist in Bogotá to support the management of intellectual property rights, licensing processes, contractual compliance, and usage rights across creative and production projects. The role requires a detail‑oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to guide internal teams through IP and rights management while mitigating legal and operational risks.
Key responsibilities
- Support review and management of IP rights, licensing agreements, usage rights, and contractual documentation across projects.
- Partner with Creative, Production, Business Affairs, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with IP requirements and client guidelines.
- Review and manage documentation related to copyrighted materials, trademarks, talent usage, music rights, images, footage, and third‑party assets.
- Assist in rights clearance processes and maintain accurate records of licenses, approvals, permissions, and supporting documentation.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on IP processes, rights management requirements, and best practices.
- Track and manage IP requests, approvals, renewals, and related documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks related to copyright, licensing, trademarks, and usage rights, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects move forward while maintaining compliance and minimizing risk.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and leverage AI‑powered tools to increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, governance standards, and business affairs procedures.
Required profile
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Intellectual Property, Business Affairs, Rights Management, Legal Operations, Contracts Administration, Production Operations, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Intellectual Property, Business Administration, Communications, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of IP concepts, copyright, trademarks, licensing agreements, usage rights, and contractual documentation.
- Ability to explain legal, contractual, or procedural topics effectively to non‑legal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Advanced English level (B2+) is mandatory.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with AI‑powered tools and interest in leveraging technology to improve operational processes.
