Civil Engineer - Water Resources and Stormwater

About the role

Emapta is recruiting a Civil Engineer for a U.S.-based environmental engineering firm that designs sustainable infrastructure and water management solutions, such as flood control and green urban systems. The position is a day-shift, Monday to Friday contract (11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Colombian time, weekends off) with a work-from-home setup.

Key responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design and analysis for water resources and stormwater management projects.
• Collaborate with project engineers, managers and drafting teams to ensure accurate and compliant deliverables.
• Prepare and review drainage, grading and stormwater management plans.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or similar tools.
• Coordinate with CAD staff to develop detailed engineering drawings.
• Perform calculations, prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with U.S. design standards.
• Review construction documents and assist in QA/QC processes.
• Support project managers with documentation and client coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in water resources, stormwater or civil design.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Required skills

• Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and ArcGIS.
• MS Office.
